Helicopter Twirls Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Coast
A helicopter hovering above a popular California coastline abruptly commenced twirling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and plunging into a cluster of palm trees as spectators watched.
Videos posted on the internet depict the helicopter starting to spin above Huntington Beach then falling in the direction of the border of the coast, where it becomes wedged amidst palms and a set of stairs adjacent to the coastal road.
First Aid Update
Emergency responders said five persons were transported to a medical facility including two individuals who were in the helicopter and were “extracted safely from the crash site” following the accident on Saturday.
Three people on the pavement were harmed. Specifics on their wounds were still under review.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.
