President Trump Scraps Proposal to Dispatch Government Forces to San Francisco Bay Area

Donald Trump has called off plans for a deployment of government forces to the Northern California that had triggered broad criticism from state officials and brought protesters pouring onto the public areas.

Area Tension Over Potential National Operation

The area had been on edge after information emerged that the leadership was prepared to send over a hundred Customs and Border Protection and additional officers to the military facility in across the Bay, as part of a large-scale legal compliance plan.

Leadership Decision Following Discussions

However, the national leader announced he would not advance with a “increase” of government personnel in the area after speaking with the local official, city leadership, and business figures including Marc Benioff and Nvidia chief.

“During our discussion, the chief executive told me directly that he was terminating all arrangements for a national operation in this municipality,” Lurie commented in a statement.
